Martin Wine Cellar Tasting Series & Events

Come enjoy our seated tastings with lecture and our casual reception–style tastings. We are pleased to offer events for wine novices as well as seasoned wine collectors.

Seated tastings will be informative, featuring knowledgeable guest speakers. Wine lovers will have a chance to swirl, sniff and sip their way through eight wines accompanied by and matched perfectly with delicious artisanal cheeses from our Gourmet Food Department. They will explore wine–producing regions, terminology, wine–making techniques and more. After tasting all the wines, there will be a group discussion.

Our casual reception–style tasting will afford tasters the opportunity to taste between 12 and 20 wines poured by our wine consultants. These wines will be complemented by artisanal cheeses and delectable delights from our Catering and Gourmet Food Departments. Tasters may casually stroll from table to table comparing various wines, discussing them with other tasters as well as with any of our wine experts on hand. These educational and entertaining experiences are a must for all wine fans. Please note the store location of the tasting before making reservations.

We carefully select cuts of meat, measure marinades with scientific precision and the beer pairing is barely given a thought. After all, beer is beer, right? Not quite. Each protein or vegetable has a specific flavor profile and deserves to be carefully coupled with a beer. During this reception style tasting at Martin Wine Cellar of Metairie, you will have the opportunity to taste over 70 beers, including local, microbrews and Belgian–styled, and speak with our knowledgeable staff about brews for your barbecue. This tasting will feature a special selection of BBQ catered menu items from Martin Wine Cellar Catering. So before you dump charcoal into the grill, join us for this fun filled tasting.
