Gin
The word 'gin' comes from “genever,” the Dutch word for juniper. Gin is usually distilled from grains such as wheat or rye and this results in a light-bodied spirit. To infuse gin with its characteristic taste various botanicals (herbs and spices) are added. The primary botanical used is the highly aromatic, blue-green berry of the juniper bush.
